I JUST FINISHED THE DOGWATCHERS!

And it's snowing a magical snowstorm outside just like the magical snowstorms in the story and just whoooaaaa . . . yay!

Also, this is just the rough draft, so of course there will be editing, but: The Dogwatchers is long. 102,000 words, 368 pages. By far the longest thing I've ever written. Which is kind of cool. And I'm glad to note that middle-grade fantasy of this length is hardly unheard of these days.

So, in summary: WOO!

Aw, thanks! I definitely will. It needs some editing, though, before even my mom will be seeing it.

Oh gosh! You lucky accomplished person, you!

And I love when life imitates art, or when outer life imitates inner life.

I miss being happy about snow. In school, it means time off. When you're a nurse, it means having to get to work anyway or camping out at work or making someone work doubles. But even then it's so pretty you can't stay mad at the snow. I can, however, stay made at Oregon drivers.
